Unicorn Filter Blend #13 is the latest iteration of The Naughty Dog's legendary filter blend series—a magical, ever-evolving coffee that combines the best seasonal lots into a balanced and delicious cup. This edition brings together spiced tea complexity, playful watermelon gum sweetness, and smooth milk chocolate richness. It's a coffee that's both approachable and intriguing, perfect for daily filter brewing whilst maintaining the quality and character The Naughty Dog is known for.
THE BLEND
The Unicorn Filter series is The Naughty Dog's signature rotating blend, crafted by world champion roaster Gwilym Davies and his team. Each numbered edition brings together carefully selected lots from Colombia and Ethiopia—two origins that complement each other beautifully. Colombian coffees provide structure, sweetness, and body, whilst Ethiopian lots contribute brightness, tea-like qualities, and floral complexity. The blend changes with the seasons, always showcasing the best available coffees whilst maintaining the Unicorn's distinctive approachable character.
THE ROAST
Roasted specifically for filter preparation, this blend is developed to highlight clarity and sweetness whilst maintaining balanced acidity. The roast profile brings out the spiced tea notes from the Ethiopian component and the smooth chocolate character from the Colombian side, creating a harmonious cup that works beautifully across various filter brewing methods.
THE CUP
Clean, sweet, and wonderfully balanced with layers of spiced tea, watermelon sweetness, and milk chocolate smoothness. Perfect for morning brewing or afternoon enjoyment.

What is the roast recency?
We recommend brewing with beans that are at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 6-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12 - should we have any left in stock!). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
