INTRO
This is April's first single farmer project from Ethiopia, sourced directly from Regassa who owns a small 4-hectare farm in Bombe Village, Bensa, Sidama. Planted exclusively with the distinctly sweet Krume 74158 variety, this lot represents the beginning of an exciting new chapter in April's direct sourcing from Ethiopia.
THE PRODUCER
Regassa is 43 years old and has a family with 4 children. Born and raised in Bombe Village, he finished his studies in agricultural business management at Saint Mary University and holds a diploma in Plants from Dilla University. Apart from his farm, Regassa also works in Bensa Woreda under agricultural enterprise where he learned modern practices and applies them on his farm.
Regassa's background has helped him build up a better understanding in farming, processing, and drying. He owns a small farm of roughly 4 hectares, with false banana as shade trees. In 4 hectares, he planted more than 9,000 trees, all of which are a single variety of Krume 74158.
THE PROCESS
Regassa owns a small drying station where he processes his own coffees, all as natural process. The process involves:
- 🍒 Cherry Selection — Floaters removed first
- 👁️ Hand Sorting — Defects removed on raised beds
- ☀️ Single Layer Drying — Completely on single layer under sunlight
- 📅 Drying Time — Approximately 23–25 days
This careful attention to processing brings out the coffee's natural sweetness and fruit complexity.
THE CUP
A beautifully balanced cup featuring jammy raspberry sweetness, dried plum depth, and bright candied citrus notes. The natural process creates a juicy, expressive profile with a delicate tea-like body.

We recommend brewing with beans that are at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 8-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans.
